Man City confirm Nathan Ake signing from Bournemouth
The Netherlands international arrived on a five-year contract for a fee of £41million from relegated Cherries.
Manchester City have confirmed the signing of defender Nathan Ake from Championship side AFC Bournemouth. Ake, becomes the second signing of the club during the current transfer window after the arrival of winger Ferran Torres on Tuesday.
The 25-year old came through the ranks of the Chelsea youth system before joining Bournemouth on loan for the 2016-17 campaign and signing permanently in 2017 for a fee of £20m.
Pep Guardiola was in the market for a new defender after failing to replace club legend Vincent Kompany at the start of last season, leading the club to nine losses in the 2019-20 season and finishing 18 points behind champions Liverpool.
John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi are expected to leave the club as doubts remain over their futures at the Manchester Club.
Ake made 29 league appearances for the Cherries last season as Eddie Howe’s side ended their five years stay in the Premier League.
