Premier League 2020/21: Leeds United face champions Liverpool in the opening round
Manchester United and Manchester City are given the rest as they will not participate in the opening weekend due to their involvement in European club competitions this month.
Premier League have announced the fixtures of the upcoming 2020/21 season with promoted Leeds United will open their campaign against reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield after an absence of 16 years from English top-flight football.
The opening fixture of the new season will see Crystal Palace hosting Southampton at the Selhurst Park.
FA Cup winners Arsenal will kick off their season against playoff winners Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday while Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton travel to Tottenham Hotspur stadium to face Jose Mourinho’s Spurs.
In other fixtures of the opening weekend, West Brom host Leicester City at The Hawthorns and West Ham will take on Newcastle United at the London Stadium.
Chelsea will travel to Amex Stadium to face Brighton and in the final fixture of the opening matches Sheffield United will host Wolves at Bramall Lane.
Manchester City and Manchester United will not kick off their campaign in the opening weekend and have given the rest due to their participation in Europe this month.
Ole Gunner Solskaer’s Manchester United will open their campaign the following weekend at home against Crystal Palace while City’s opening game will be against Wolves at the Molineux.
The first Merseyside Derby will be played on October 17 at Goodison Park.
