Kevin De Bruyne bags Premier League Player of the Season award
Manchester City midfielder beats Liverpool’s trio Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold to win his first Player of the Season award.
Kevin De Bruyne has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Season after a brilliant campaign for Manchester City where he provided a record 20 assists and scoring 13 league goals.
Pep Guardiola’s side finished second in the league behind champions Liverpool, who won their first Premier League title.
The 29-year-old became the third Belgian to win the league’s top performer award after former City teammate Vincent Kompany and ex- Chelsea Player Eden Hazard.
De Bruyne won the Player of the Season award after beating Liverpool’s trio Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Southampton striker Danny Ings, Leicester City striker and Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy and Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold won the Manager of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards respectively, While Tottenham’s Son Heung-min bagged the Goal of the Season award for his goal against Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
