Ralf Rangnick to join AC Milan ahead of new Serie A campaign
Former Red Bull Leipzig coach set to become new Rossoneri Manager and technical director ahead of the 2020-21 season
Italian Serie A giants AC Milan will appoint Ralf Rangnick as their new Manager, the German will also replace club legend Paolo Maldini as the new technical director. Stefano Pioli, the current manager of AC Milan will leave the club after the conclusion of the current season.
The 62-year-old German who is currently head of sport and development with Red Bull has previously managed RB Leipzig on two occasions and has also coached Stuttgart, Schalke, and Hoffenheim. However, he never coached outside his home country.
Rangnick’s arrival also means the end of Pioli’s tenure at the Milan based club who was appointed in October and will manage the team for the last time on August 2 for their home fixture against Cagliari.
Club legend Maldini, who played his entire career at AC Milan has previously accused the German of a lack of respect. He is also expected to turn down the offer of club ambassador.
