Germany international striker Timo Werner is close to joining Chelsea after the London club agreed to meet the striker’s release clause.
The Stuttgart born striker has scored 31 goals for RB Leipzig in all competitions and also led the team to the quarter-finals of the UEFA champions league. The 24-year-old Werner has previously been linked to Liverpool.
Chelsea agreed to meet the release clause of 60 million euros which will expire on June 15. Werner moved to Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016 has scored 75 Bundesliga goals.
Chelsea has already signed Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech from Dutch side ajax who will join the club on 1st July.
