Barcelona sign Sergio Aguero on a free transfer from Man City
The Argentine signed a two-year contract and will join La Liga giants from July 1 when his current contract will expire.
FC Barcelona have confirmed the signing of striker Sergio Aguero on a free transfer until 2023.
Aguero, who scored 260 goals in all appearances for the Manchester club confirmed earlier in the campaign that he would end his 10-year stay at the club.
The 32-year-old striker was unveiled by Barcelona on Monday in a brief presentation at Camp Nou and he is now expected to join his national team for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying fixtures.
He played his last game for Man City on Saturday after coming on in the second half in the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea.
In Barcelona Aguero is hoping to link up with his international teammate and friend Lionel Messi, who is out of contract this summer, and club president Joan Laporta has said that the talks for his contract extension are in progress.
The club was in search of a striker ever since Luis Suarez left the club last summer and the signing of Aguero might fill the void left by the departure of the Uruguayan.
As per reports, Barcelona are also in talks to sign Georginio Wijnaldum, Memphis Depay, and Eric Garcia all on a free transfer.
Aguero has previously played for Atletico Madrid in La Liga where he spent five seasons and won Europa League and UEFA Super cup in 2010 scoring 102 goals for the rojiblancos.
Barcelona set a buyout clause of €100 million on his contract.
