Everton sign Brazilian Allan from Napoli for £22M
Brazil International becomes Carlo Ancelotti’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
Everton have announced the signing of midfielder Allan from Serie A side Napoli for a fee of £22m in a three-year deal, the club confirmed on Saturday.
Allan, who previously worked with Ancelotti when the Italian was managing Napoli where he made 61 appearances under the current Everton boss has reunited with him once again after agreeing on a three-year contract with the Goodison Park club.
The 29-year-old midfielder moved to Napoli in 2015 where he made 212 appearances in all competitions and winning the Coppa Italia in his final season with the club after beating Juventus on penalties, and has also played with Udinese in Serie A and Vasco da Gama in Brazil.
He represented his country nine times after making his debut in 2018 and was also part of the Copa America winning team in 2019 with his new teammate Richarlison.
James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucouré are set to follow former Napoli man Allan to the Merseyside club after completing their medicals.
According to reports, Everton have already agreed a fee with Real Madrid and Watford for James and Doucouré with their move to the club is imminent to club in the coming days.
Allan has been assigned the number 6 jersey for his debut campaign with the Toffees.
Everton face Tottenham in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 season on September 13.
