Manchester United sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax for £35 million
Dutch midfielder signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils with an option for a one-year extension.
Manchester United have completed the signing of midfielder Donny van de Beek from Eredivisie side Ajax on a five-year deal, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
A product of the Ajax youth academy, de Beek made his debut for the club in 2015 and made 175 appearances for the club in all competitions while scoring 41 goals.
With Ajax, Van de Beek has won Eredivisie in the 2018/19 season and also helped the team to reach the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United paid a fee of £35 million to Ajax for the services of the young Holland International midfielder who signed a five-year contract with the club and will join the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in United’s midfield position.
Van de Beek became the club’s first signing of this transfer window ahead of the new season.
Ole Gunner Solskjær’s team host Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener on September 19.
